Chapter 1: Escape
The once vibrant city of Ferrum on planet Tatar lay in ruins, glowing embers the only flicker of life against the dead metal landscape. A young rat named Pesto, no bigger than a teacup, scurried through the wreckage, clutching a glowing pendant. It was all that remained of his father, who had sacrificed himself to get Pesto to an escape pod.
